Lesley’s background is in law, both private practice and then as a legal advisor on employment matters in a Government Department. She trained as a mediator in the late 1990’s and as a Restorative Justice facilitator, providing facilitated meetings to offenders and offence victims. 

Lesley worked as a mediator for the Human Rights Commission for a number of years. In the last 4 years she has worked as a self-employed mediator, facilitator, conflict coach and professional supervisor. She contracts to MBIE as an employment mediator, to the FDR Centre as a family mediator, and to Resolution Institute (the Professional body for Mediators), as an assessor of mediators and restorative justice facilitators.

Another growing area of her practice is in restorative workplace meetings. This is where relationships are ongoing and difficult conversations are required to resolve issues and repair relationships, either between individuals or within teams, boards or groups. Lesley has provided these types of meetings to employees in the Government sector, to community group organisations and private companies. She has worked with a wide variety of people in various situations to assist them to reach realistic outcomes to their disputes.

Lesley is flexible in the dispute resolution processes. She uses and draws on her mediation, restorative practice, facilitation and circle process training and experience to provide a tailored process that meets the needs of the parties.

Lesley is an accredited member of Resolution Institute.
