Catherine is an arbitrator, adjudicator, and mediator in private practice, focused on commercial and construction disputes. Since 2016, she has accepted 200+ appointments across these roles and is listed on the dispute resolution panels of the New Zealand International Arbitration Centre (NZIAC), New Zealand Dispute Resolution Centre (NZDRC), the Building Disputes Tribunal, the Beijing International Arbitration Centre (BIAC), Hainan International Arbitration Court (HIAC) and AMINZ.
Catherine is also a Director of The ADR Centre, leading the design and delivery of private dispute resolution services across commercial, building and construction, and family and relationship matters.
Before specialising in private dispute resolution, she practised as a commercial litigator in New Zealand, London, and the Cayman Islands, acting on complex and high-value matters involving fraud, insolvency, contractual disputes, financial services, tax avoidance, and regulatory issues. Her work has included acting for liquidators of a Madoff-affected investment fund in related large-scale litigation, advising in relation to Royal Commission, Serious Fraud Office, and Securities Commission inquiries, and acting on disputes spanning the Asia-Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, the Americas, the Caribbean, and Africa.
Catherine writes and presents regularly on private dispute resolution practice, both in New Zealand and overseas.
